Grading
In my elementary classroom, I use a number and letter combination to tell you your students grades. How this works is that the letters represent the participation and growth in music while the numbers represent the child's behavior in my classroom. Please refer to the chart below to understand more fully the grading rubric.
The letter system works as such. There are two possible letters a student can get in my classroom. S or U. A student can also get a number 1 through 3. Look below to see what each letter and number means.
With this system a student might receive a S2 for a grade which would mean that they have satisfactorily met the expectations on participation and growth but have moderate behavioral issues in the classroom. A student with a U1 grade has not met my expectations on participation and growth but has little to no classroom behavior issues.
For questions and concerns on your students grades feel free to contact me by my information here or wait until parent-teacher conferences to discuss more on the grades and performance of your child this year.
- S - S means that the student has satisfactorily met the expectations on participation and growth
