Another passion of mine every since high school has been Musical Theatre. I have been involved in many productions in both my previous high school and Concordia College. What makes me so passionate about music from the theatre is the ability it has to move the emotions, not to say music can't do that in other mediums. Seeing and hearing the emotion of the actor on stage is something that I can really connect to. I can't wait to help with the musical here at Dawson. I think there is something every student can take away from being in a musical. Below are some of my favorite musicals. I would love to talk to you about your favorites too.
Brandon Hurley
I was born and raised here in Minnesota and spent most of my life in a small town called Dawson. I spent most of my school career very involved in extracurriculars and school productions. I spent most of my time in the music hall and on the stage acting. My summers were spent working at my local grocery store, spending time at music camps, and hanging out with friends.
I graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School in 2011 and furthered my education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I graduated from Concordia in May of 2015 with a B.M in Music Education. After graduation I was hired back at Dawson-Boyd and look forward to starting the year from where I once graduated.
All my past experience leads me to have a strong belief when it comes to music and its instruction. You can find my full view on music and its teaching on the Classroom Philosophy page. Click the link below to go directly to the page.
